“One of the snottiest records this side of the Dead Boys, the Criminals‘ Never Been Caught was released by Lookout back in 1997. While never quite reaching the heights of popularity seen by other acts of the label, Jesse Luscious and company knew how to play rock ‘n’ roll, and despite the slurred snarl of the vocals, it was remarkably catchy. Criminals songs were the sort of things you’d hear once and have stuck in your head for days, despite sounding like the soundtrack to a back-alley brawl.” – Rock Star Journalist blog
We’re playing 1 more show this year- back where it all began: 924 Gilman Street in the East Bay!
We’re supporting Off With Their Heads- an excellent band from out there, somewhere! Also on the bill, French Exit and friends & rockers Love Songs, Bobby Joe Ebola & the Children MacNuggits, and Civil War Rust!

From photographer Marc’s Fest diary:
“The Criminals are a much rawer band than most here. And their sound shows this. Jesse is a great energetic frontman and that’s entertaining as fuck. Their set was equally terrible and great.”
(stay tuned for more photos from Marc in the photo section!)
